I just bought a house! Too bad I’m 39 and it’s my first house… That little voice inside your head telling your that you’re way behind. That it’s about time you grow up. It’s so prevalent for all of us. That inner judge always holding us up to everyone else around us. But that voice has no idea what it’s talking about!
Comparison Is The Thief Of Joy
We struggle sometimes to feel like we’re fitting in or to feel like we’re good enough. We’re social critters so we live in groups. It has built in us an innate desire to be a part of the group. However, one of the great things about the modern era is the opportunity to live your life your way.
Today I want to talk about why what everyone else thinks and does doesn’t matter to you. It’s what you think and do that matters. There’s no reason to look around and judge your progress by everyone else’s standards. It’s your standards that are important. Remember, we’re each on our own journey. There is no set timeline and no set destination.
If you’re going to compare yourself to anything, then it’s where you’ve come from to where you are. Or where you are to where you’re going. You are the only thing you need to compare yourself to. Are you achieving your goals and are you becoming the person you want to be? That’s what’s most important!
